How to Pass Your RES Examination

If you’re reading this, we assume you’ve already enrolled in the Real Estate Salesperson (RES) Course with one of the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA) Approved Course Providers. If you haven’t enrolled yet, please click here to access the list of approved course providers.


Real Estate Salesperson Examination Format

The Real Estate Salesperson (RES) Examination consists of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Each paper has a duration of 2½ hours. Starting in 2023, both Paper 1 and Paper 2 follow this format:

  • Section A:

  • 60 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) worth 60 marks.

  • Section B:

  • 20 MCQs with reference to 1 or 2 Case Studies, totaling 40 marks. Duration: 2½ hours for each paper.
